HANNAH SOCIETY’S SOCIAL MEDIA FAUX PAS!

2943The Hannah Society Newsletter 5:8:13 is a great example of how far it will go to falsely gild its tarnished image.

After including contrived videos of first-person testimonials, the company asks its customers to go to Yelp.com and give the company a 4 or 5 star review. If a 4-5 star review remains unfiltered for a week, Hannah Society will reward the reviewer with a significant prize! As many of us already know, Yelp reviews are intended to be spontaneous and unsolicited.  The site does not allow manufactured campaigns.

This for-profit corporation has determined it needs to offer a “significant prize” to elicit positive Yelp reviews all while attempting to circumvent Yelp terms of use!  The Hannah Society rating was 1 1/2 stars without the latest canned reviews. It is now at 3 stars! We can only conclude that deception and misrepresentation may just work.

We don’t have a “significant prize” to offer in return for negative Yelp reviews and would not violate standard social media conduct rules anyway!  We hope peace of mind, knowing that you are helping to protect those without a voice, is reward enough. If you do have direct knowledge or interactions with the company, we hope you will submit an honest review to Yelp.  Especially now with this contrived campaign taking place. Yelp needs as many honest reviews as possible at this point!
